CAT ET Install Guide

ET ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN

Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) is diagnostic software required to communicate, diagnose and service electronically controlled Caterpillar engines and machines. When connected to an Electronic Control Module (ECM), a technician has the ability to diagnose existing and potential problems, configure the product, and obtain data for analysis.

Installation Information:

Step 1: Run the install file, during the installation you will be asked if you want to install Wincap software, click yes.

Step 2: Enable ET through the windows firewall, go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall > click on “Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall” > click on the “Allow another program….” Button > click the “Browse” button. Now manually navigate to the ET folder and select the ET program and click the “Open” button, next click the “Add” button. Now make sure “Domain”, “Home/Work” and “Public” are ticked, now click the “OK” button.
